Locations for photo sessions!

I have not blogged in a while. We just has Mothers Day mini sessions, which was a great success! Thank you everyone!

Over the past few weeks we have been on the hunt for some great places for taking pictures!

These pictures one from the Mothers Day minis and the other of my son for his 5th birthday photos. These were taken at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch. There is the lake there and many neat desert landscape areas!

These pictures were taken at Arizona Falls in Phoenix area. Awesome little spot to take pictures. Love how the water fall looks in the background.

We also checked out the Scottsdale Civic Center. The love sign which is a very popular place to take pictures. We also learned about this nice colorful wall. I absolutely love this colored wall. The colors look great!

I had a wonderful opportunity to do my friends gender reveal photos at Goldfield Ghost Town. Down around the back there is an old mining cart. Makes a really great background!

Does your photograph have a theme?

What makes a photograph better is when it has theme!! A theme to a picture can be a little boy enjoying life, smiling, running, blowing bubbles. You want the photograph to almost tell a story!

This is a picture of my daughter I took a while back right before she turned one. There is a subject which is her. There is a theme she is baby outside smiling, enjoying all the sounds and color around her. She is happy and enjoys life.

This is another picture that has a theme. She loves soccer. She also takes it very serious, she is determined to win and be the best player she can. She looks brave and ready to bring on the game! The way she is standing gives that theme and of course the soccer ball and shoes!

Theme is important, also having a clear subject is important also. So the next time you take a photo ask yourself what is the theme!

What to wear for a photo session

We have all booked a family photo shoot or at-least some kind of photo shoot. I don't know about any of you but I know one of the main things to come to mind is what is everyone going to wear? Am I right?

This topic came to mind for a couple of reasons. I have done many photo shoots where no one in the photo had matching colors or similar clothes. To make the photos look really nice colors that go well together will help very much. Also the pattern , for example you don't want to put someone in stripes and then another one is plaid, just wont look good. Shoes can make a difference too. If you wear a dress you probably don't want to wear tennis shoes. So making sure you have the right shoes on with the right outfit can help as well.

I recently did a photo shoot of a cute family from Avondale and they all matched with similar colors, I will show you a few examples.

In this picture the family looks good with colors that go well together. I think this is a great example of what to wear for a photo shoot and they all look nice.
The mom and daughter are wearing matching colors and their pants are matching.

The son and dad are also wearing similar colors. They are also colors that go with the color pink that the girls are wearing.

I think this was a great topic to go over and give a few tips with examples of what to wear for your next photo shoot.

I really enjoyed the photo shoot I did with this family, The family and kids were a joy to work with! I

About us!!

My name is Jamie, I love photography. I love to be able to capture clients memories. I started photography in 2012 as just a side hobby because growing up I loved to take pictures all time. Then I realized this was more than just a hobby for me and I wanted to make a business out of it. I like to hear and learn experiences from other photographers. I have decided to start this blog to be able to share my work, my stories and knowledge that I have in photography.
I have chosen my name to be Tacenda Photography. The reason I chose this name is because it was something that stood out, I saw an elegant word, and I liked the way it sounded. Now you are probably wondering what this word means. Well Tacenda means things better left unsaid, matters to be passed on in silence. A picture is worth 1000 words. The reason I feel Tacenda goes with photography is pictures are captured memories that are passed on and are silent. They are memories frozen in time.
I will be blogging once to twice a week. I look forward to people reading my blogs, as well as me reading others and becoming part of the photography community.
